campus footprint - eco friendly solutions for college campuses
white

Campus Footprint is the first business venture to emerge from the Whittier College business incubator program, which was conceived by the notion that faculty, students and administrators could pool their resources to set real business ideas in motion.  As part of this program, students get hands-on experience and work directly with faculty experts as they apply their classroom skills to a real business start-up.

The vision for CF was formed by co-founders, Whittier College Associate Professor, Dan Duran, and Whittier College Alum, Nash Ream, who believed the biggest challenge for students today is to address the environmental and economic issues associated with the erosion of our eco-system.  They knew that big changes begin with little changes, and that our country’s best and brightest were the greatest resource for launching a “movement” towards a more sustainable America.

After a few initial casual conversations, the two came up with a working plan to provide simple solutions for campus communities looking to reduce their carbon footprint.  They pitched the idea to other members of the Whittier College community, and before long, the Campus Footprint Movement was underway.

Early success has led to exponential growth for Campus Footprint in recent months, and the company’s efforts have already made a measurable impact on the carbon emission level in the Whittier College community.  It won’t be long before the CF Movement gains speed in other campus communities.
